R86014 Ridgid Autoshift Drill

Client:  The Home Depot
Skills: Teamwork, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, User Interface

Project Scope:  Rescue a struggling project. Worked as part of a cross-company design and engineering team to revamp the tool design and branding.  The final package clearly communicated its value to the end user at point of sale.

Logo Development

We worked as a cohesive team to develop the autoshift logo.  It's design would be incorporated into the actual tool and the promotional material.

User interface

The gear housing was designed to resemble that of a cast automatic transmission housing on an automobile.  The controls and speed indicators were kept robust to remain consistent with the brand.  The rear cap with embossed logo helped to differentiate the drill from other Ridgid drills.
